Thursday 19th October
Dexter Bentley (hello goodbye show resonance FM) and Doug Hart (Hydrogen Dukebox) present another Circus Circus Social evening of ACOUSTIC SUICIDE
This months guests are once again asked to play stripped down, unplugged and musically naked .. The acoustic state. The idea is simple, play with no gimmix and see how you effect people who are bombarded with the glossy production that is the modern record. Music in it's most simple form ? Maybe, but everything hangs on carefully delivered and well carried melodies, the lack of dry throat.. As the crowd goes quite, you glug and then, in live music terms, you meet your maker, no lights, no volume just the beautiful interaction of the crowd and you the Performer. The next night is October 19th when the chosen ones are...
Fireworks Night
The downbeat lush arrangements, simple, powerful songs and brooding presence of Fireworks Night are akin to Low or a very low-watt Calexico, with a deathly resonance that Will Oldham would no doubt approve of. With sparing use of pianos and guitars, they weave simple vignettes, maudlin tales of dissolved love, depression and darkness. There is nonetheless real beauty here if you choose to find it and while they may well kick you into the gutter, they also invite you to take a peek at the stars. Their debut LP 'It's a wide, wide sea' is available now on Organ Grinder Records. www.organgrinderrecords.com www.myspace.com/fireworksnight
Victoria Veulet and Benjamin Prosser
Victoria Yeulet & Benjamin Prosser make songs that draw from their mutual loves of old-time, blues, country, folk, gospel, r'n'b and rockabilly which they practice on wooden floors with tape players, voices, pedals and tea. Victoria Yeulet currently sings with the Television Personalities, has toured providing backing vocal's with San Francisco's The Husbands,as well as working on her own solo vocal projects. Benjamin Prosser has been writing and recording songs for many years, self releasing his tunes, and also having released solo lp 'Blues for Harpo' on Sexton Ming's 'Rim' label. Most recently he released a 7" on the Fitzrovian Phonographic label, one side featuring his current band The Tap Collective. www.myspace.com/victoriayeuletandbenjaminprosser

Saturday 28th October
The Left Outsides
The Left Outsides are the sound of frost on overgrown abandoned train tracks; of sepia tinted photographs and delicious nights in by the fire with an old David Crosby song on the stereo.......beautiful hipsters crouching in the shadows of 1960's loft parties, dreaming of a Pop coloured gentle revolution" (from Tangents, the home of unpopular culture)

Live : King !, Nina Walsh plus Victoria Yeulet and Benjamin Prosser
Dexter Bentley (hello goodbye show resonance FM) and Doug Hart (Hydrogen Dukebox Records) present another evening of ACOUSTIC SUICIDE.. This months guests (yes three this time) are once again asked to play stripped down, unplugged and musically naked .. The idea of Acoustic Suicide is simple, a night of music in it's most simple form, everything hangs on carefully delivered and well carried melodies nerves of steel and the lack of a dry throat.. As the crowd goes quite, you can hear a pin drop ... There are no lights, not much volume, just the beautiful interaction of the crowd and Performer in it's best and most basic form...
Nina Walsh
Nina weaves her simple yet honest songs amid a backdrop of finger picked acoustic guitar. Her singing is lovely and reminiscent of legends like Marianne Faithful, the difference being that Nina's feet are firmly planted in the artistic terrain of the 21st century. She's always in the here and now and at the same time takes a little peek into the future as well as into the past, her influences being too many to mention. Here debut album is out soon on Malicious Damage. check out www.myspace.com/filthynights. www.ninawalsh.com
King!
King! is a wistful young man who's songs ponder the well trodden themes of young love, city life & Rock'n'Roll and yet still manage to come up smelling of roses. Check out www.myspace.com/kingsongs
